Please inspect. The tinplate toy factory Josef Kraus & Co., known under the brand name "Fandor", was founded in 1910 by Josef Kraus together with Milton and Julius Forchheimer in Nuremberg and ranked among the significant German manufacturers of tinplate railways in gauge 0 and gauge 1. The company manufactured both clockwork-driven and electric locomotives; the present 20-volt system belongs to the more powerful variants intended for larger layouts. The MITROPA carriages (Mitteleuropäische Schlafwagen- und Speisewagen-Aktiengesellschaft, est. 1916) are particularly sought after by collectors, as is the Shell tank wagon with its characteristic yellow lithography. The large yellow station building with the inscriptions "Wirtschaft" and "Gepäck" corresponds to the Kraus Fandor station model 2049 (produced c. 1926–1934). The Kraus company was forced to cease production before 1933, with distribution continuing until 1936. Sets of this scale comprising locomotive, numerous carriages, station buildings and extensive accessories are rarely preserved in such completeness.
