Review of our successful 79th Auction on May 9, 2026
Our 79th auction was a complete success, offering an impressive spectrum of 1,120 lots for collectors and art lovers alike. An absolute highlight that generated considerable buzz beforehand was a rare anniversary Lego brick made of 14-karat (585) yellow gold. The interest in this extraordinary object was so enormous that even the MDR broadcasting network was on-site to cover the auction. Following an exciting bidding war, the brick climbed from a starting price of €5,000 to an impressive hammer price of €15,000.
We also achieved excellent results across the other categories. For instance, the monumental bronze sculpture "Hera" by Wilfried Fitzenreiter changed hands for €11,000, while the iconic Addams Family pinball machine was auctioned off for €4,500. We recorded particularly strong price increases for Ernst Helbig's romantic Harz landscape, which started at €750 and was knocked down for €3,800, as well as for a set of Nuremberg cup weights, which reached €1,000. The top sales were rounded out by a classic Käthe Kruse doll, which started at €80 and ultimately went under the hammer for €750.
We sincerely thank all bidders and invite you to discover any unsold items in our online post-auction sale. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

When the hammer falls in Quedlinburg on November 15, collectors’ dreams will come true. We present an exceptionally curated selection ranging from feats of technical innovation to masterpieces of porcelain art.
The absolute highlight is a historic mechanical mining model from the Ore Mountains (circa 1900). Its complex mechanism brings dozens of hand-carved miner figures to life. Bidding for a good cause:the entire hammer price will be donated to the reforestation of the Kuckanstal valley near Bad Sachsa.
Another focal point is the dissolution of a major private collection of Thuringian porcelain (Karl Ens, Volkstedt). It includes hundreds of naturalistic animal figures – among them impressive eagles – as well as the rare porcelain “Lovers” group from the Wallendorf manufactory, an important document of social history.
From porcelain to mobility: a true technical gem is the rare French motorized bicycle Alcyon “Alcyonnette” (1924). The machine remains in outstanding original condition with fine patina and, complete with carbide lamp, represents a genuine time capsule of the 1920s.
The auction lineup is rounded off by selected artworks – including works by Czeslaw Wasilewski – and an impressive collection of rare Montblanc “Writers Edition” fountain pens.
