Bidding at Auction

Going Once, Going Twice, and Sold!

Approximately four weeks prior to an auction, items to be included in the sale will be published on our website and on international auction sites. Details will include the respective starting bid (reserve price). You are welcome to come and view the items in our shop during the two weeks before the actual auction. Our printed catalogue will be available at the same time. When bidding, please remember that a buyer´s premium of 24.99% will be added to the winning bid.

Subscribe to our email newsletter to ensure you never miss an auction. Our newsletter includes highlights from our next auction and a link to our online catalogue. If you prefer a printed catalogue, we can send you one by post.

Bid live in the auction hall

Bidding live in the room on the day of the auction is an unforgettable experience. The auction starts at 10am, doors open at 9.30am. To a href="bieten-abholen.html">place your bid, simply raise your bidder number for the auctioneer to see. We will broadcast the entire auction live on our YouTube channel.

Bidding before the auction - Pre-bids

If you would like to bid before the auction, you can submit your bids in writing. Written bids must be received by 7 pm on the evening before the auction. For these pre-bids by letter, fax or e-mail, we require your written agreement to the current auction terms and conditions. You can also place pre-auction bids on our website. If you use other auction platforms for this purpose, fees may apply. If your pre-bid is not reached at the auction, your hammer price will be awarded to the lot for one increment above the auction room bid.

Live bidding online or by telephone

If you cannot or do not wish to be present for bidding live in the auction room, you can register for another live bidding procedure - in writing for live telephone bids and online for live bids on our website or other platforms - by 7 p.m. on the evening before the auction.

1. Telephone bidding: The most important prerequisite for telephone bidding is your availability - dead spots or busy lines have prevented many bids from being accepted. You always bid the limit by phone-bids, but you can also place a higher pre-bid. In general, telephone bidding is available for items with a limit of 100 Euros (reserve price) or more, or when a pre-bid of at least 100 Euros has already been placed. Bidders without a pre-bid will be called as soon as 110 Euros or the limit price is reached. We will call bidders with a pre-bid as soon as the pre-bid amount has been reached - so they can decide if they want to continue bidding. Please enter "by phone" in the bid column next to your bid on the bid form.

2. Bid online: With the link on our website, you can participate virtually live and bid online in real time. If you are not yet familiar with the process, you can read our instructions: How to bid online in real time? The auction will be broadcast simultaneously on other platforms. Generally, additional fees apply for live bidding.

Winning bid - what happens next

The winning bid is a legally valid purchase contract.

Those who win the bid live in the room can pay the invoice immediately afterwards and take their item home. Collection is particularly environmentally friendly if you bring your own packaging material, e.g. a blanket or reusable bags and boxes.

We send invoices to successful bidders in the days following the auction; the payment term is 10 days. We charge a buyer´s premium of 24.99 per cent including VAT for each successful bid. Bidders who were unsuccessful cannot be notified separately. However, you are welcome to view the results on the website. If the winning bid is higher than your bid, another bidder has been successful.

After payment - in advance by bank transfer or directly at the auction house - you can collect the goods directly from us during opening hours or by making an appointment. On request, we can arrange shipping by our competent in-house shipping team.

by telephone

When bidding by telephone, you will automatically bid the limit or the registered pre-bid (telephone bidding is only possible from €100). Only when the limit/pre-bid has been reached we will call you to bid further on. Your telephone bid will be treated as a written bid up to the registered pre-bid and will of course only be used to the extent necessary.

If you save your absentee bids on the bid list, you will be able to change or delete them until you submit them. If you do not submit your absentee bids, they will not be considered. They must be submitted before the auction starts.

You can submit your absentee bids now using the "Submit absentee bids directly" button, or later using the "List of Bids" menu item.
