The gas mask spectacles were introduced by the Wehrmacht in 1934, enabling spectacle wearers to use their gas masks. Instead of conventional temples, they feature an elastic headband that fits beneath the gas mask hood. The accompanying field dressings by the firm of Lohmann in Fahr am Rhein are dated 1941 and steam-sterilised. Complete medical groups of this type are rarely found intact.
