Set of ten commemorative coins of the German Democratic Republic, each 5 Mark; mixed material — early issues silver 500/1000, later issues copper-nickel-zinc. Obverse with portrait or thematic depiction with dates and name inscription, reverse with the GDR state coat of arms and inscription „DEUTSCHE DEMOKRATISCHE REPUBLIK" and value „5 MARK". Includes issues for Heinrich Hertz, Thomas Mann, Klopstock, Robert Koch, Philipp Reis, Otto Lilienthal, Brahms, Kepler and the International Year of Disabled Persons. Condition very fine to extremely fine, partly with light toning. D. 29 mm each. Total weight 122 g.
