Kriegsmarine E-Boat War Badge, Designed by Peekhaus, Manufactured by Schwerin Berlin
Base metal, gilt and silver-plated. E-boat war badge (Schnellboot-Kriegsabzeichen) of the German Kriegsmarine, second pattern. A silver-plated relief E-boat on waves, enclosed by a gilt oak leaf wreath with national eagle and swastika. The reverse inscribed "FEC.W.E. PEEKHAUS BERLIN" and "AUSF SCHWERIN BERLIN 68", with pin fastening. Age-appropriate good condition with patina. Authenticity not guaranteed. H. 59 mm, W. 52 mm, Wt. 42.4 g.
The E-boat war badge was instituted on 30 May 1941 and awarded to crew members of fast attack craft. The second pattern was introduced on 28 January 1943. "FEC" (fecit) denotes the designer Wilhelm Ernst Peekhaus, Berlin; "AUSF" (Ausführung) denotes the manufacturer C. Schwerin & Sohn, Berlin.
