Hausser (O. & M. Hausser), founded in 1904 in Ludwigsburg, produced the searchlight truck as catalogue number 742 from 1935 as part of the military vehicle series under the Elastolin brand. The model is based on a three-axle Wehrmacht truck and features a clockwork drive as well as a battery-operated searchlight. The cable drums mounted at the rear and the tactical pennant on the mudguard are original equipment features. The searchlight truck is one of the larger and more elaborate military toys of pre-war production.
