Handwritten voice part books containing Landwehr and soldier songs were compiled in the 19th and early 20th century by military bands and male choral societies in the Landwehr context, each voice in a separate book. They are historical documents of military and folk musical culture and provide insight into the repertoire of garrison and society music.
