Tippco (Tipp & Co.) was founded in 1912 in Nuremberg by Viktoria Tipp and Ernst Carstens, and was one of the leading German tin toy manufacturers alongside Märklin and Bing. In the year of founding, Philipp Ullmann acquired Viktoria Tipp's shares; from 1919 he was sole proprietor. The WH-914 ambulance with lithographed three-colour camouflage pattern and Red Cross markings belongs to the military vehicle series of pre-war production (circa 1935). The opening rear door revealing the interior is a characteristic feature of this model.
