porcelain, around 1900, marked on the base with the Schönwald factory mark (underglaze) and additionally inscribed “Hand-Maler” and model number “9815”, Made of white porcelain with elegantly curved, openwork handles and a flared pedestal base. Both front and back feature a hand-painted, orange-red medallion showing exotic birds surrounded by stylized blossoms in shades of grey and black. Additional floral decorations and gilded highlights adorn the lid, base, and handles, age-appropriate condition, finial of the lid glued, break on one handle, foot bumped, glaze flaws, gilding heavily rubbed in areas, 22 x 19 x 14.5 cm (HxWxD)
