Höchster porcelain manufactory openwork plate with a landscape motif
A white porcelain wall plate, manufactured in the second half of the 20th century by the Höchster Porcelain Manufactory. The underside bears the manufactory's blue wheel mark with an additional painter's mark. The shallow, molded plate depicts a finely executed, polychrome landscape scene with a staffage figure on a riverbank, flanked by trees and ruins, and an architectural scene with a tower in the background. The rim is elaborately openworked and designed in a geometric woven structure. Gold accents adorn both the openwork areas and the slightly wavy rim, good age-appropriate condition, the gold decoration is minimally rubbed and the glaze has minimal scratches, d. 26 cm
