15 Tin Figures “Military and Camp Life”, probably Heinrichsen, Nuremberg, first half of the 20th century
Painted tin, hand-colored on both sides, set of 15 flat tin figures, partly arranged as groups, depicting various military scenes and camp life motifs. Among them are mounted musicians in parade uniforms, drummers, flag bearers, officers with pickelhaube helmets, campfire scenes, wounded care by medical personnel, washing scenes, and soldiers in bivouac. Richly colored paintwork with high attention to detail, representing a typical subject of German tin figure production in the 19th-century tradition. Age-appropriate good condition with minor paint losses, figure height approx. 5.5–10 cm
Please inspect. The depicted scenes and stylistic features suggest a production by the traditional Nuremberg-based company Heinrichsen Tin Figures, established in 1839 and renowned for its historic military series. The detailed painting, characteristic facial features, and classic engraving style are consistent with typical imperial-era series. Today, such collector’s pieces are especially valued in diorama construction and museum contexts.
