The Verband der deutschen Studenten (VdSt, Association of German Students) was founded in 1881 as a national and academically oriented student organization. The chapter in Greifswald is one of the early founding branches and is still active today. The colors black, white, and red represent the imperial colors of the German Empire. This finely crafted stein with eagle-shaped thumb rest, vivid enamel painting, and personal dedication is a rare and authentic piece of student commemorative culture from around 1900.
