Tuppack, Olympic Vase from the 1936 Berlin Games
Olympic vase from the 1936 Berlin Games, porcelain with gilt decoration, ivory-colored baluster-shaped body, OS1936, base with manufacturer’s mark “Echt Tuppack, Tiefenfurt” and official approval stamp of the Propaganda Committee of the 1936 Olympic Games, front with applied gilt German eagle above the five Olympic rings in enamel colors, raised gilt inscription “OLYMPIA 1936” below, rim and base highlighted with gold lines, very good age-appropriate condition, height 22.5 cm
The official Olympic vase of 1936 was produced by the porcelain manufacturer Tuppack in Tiefenfurt (Silesia) on behalf of the Propaganda Committee of the Games. It is one of the representative souvenir items of the XI Olympic Games in Berlin, which were orchestrated under the regime of the Third Reich and deliberately used for political self-promotion. The combination of classical porcelain craftsmanship with political symbols and the Olympic emblem makes this vase a telling historical document. 360-degree view available on our website.
