1) Dueling Scene, Jena 1858/59 Lithograph depicting a student fencing duel (Mensur) with sabres, numerous colour-wearing students (Couleurstudenten) as spectators, including several charged officers with swords. Very detailed interior with curtained windows and timber ceiling beams, inscribed “Mensur auf Schläger. Jena W/S 1858/59", lower right inscribed "Ph. v. Schirp s/l. W. Hoffmeister 1896. S.", Size: 56 × 76 cm (H×W). Age-appropriate condition with fold creases and minor edge tears. 2) Festive Group Photograph, likely Göttingen around 1900 Silver gelatin print mounted on cardboard, showing numerous members of a student fraternity in full colour regalia with caps and ribbons. Festively set table with beer steins and candlesticks, richly decorated room with stucco ceilings, wallpaper, and pendant lamps. Mounted on original black passepartout, in good condition with minimal signs of age. Approx. 31.5 × 38 cm (H×W).
