Amber brooch and pendant

Each featuring a large amber stone in a warm cognac tone, both in very good age-appropriate condition. 1) Oval amber brooch, setting and pin in 925 silver (sterling silver), gently domed amber in a smooth, polished and translucent quality, framed by a boldly designed silver mount with flowing decorative lines and applied bead relief in the style of Scandinavian post-war jewellery design, simple pin mechanism on the reverse, width 7.2 cm. 2) Amber pendant, metall silver-plated, teardrop-shaped pendant with a large amber stone in a freely cut, irregular form, vivid internal structure with cloudy inclusions, mounted in an ornate claw setting made of metal, height with movable bail 8 cm.

These two pieces reflect the artistic appeal of natural amber, which is here showcased as the dominant decorative element. While the brooch exudes a modern, understated elegance through its Scandinavian-inspired silver setting, the pendant emphasises the ornamental power of this natural material with its organic shape and opulent design. Amber has traditionally been regarded as a protective stone and was particularly favoured in the Baltic region for the creation of individual jewellery objects. This set unites fine craftsmanship with the warmth and complexity of one of the world’s oldest gem materials.
