Porcelain Lid Plate for a Tankard, Schwarzburgverbindung, Sedinia Greifswald, 1902
Circular porcelain plate, finely hand-painted with the polychrome full coat of arms of the student Schwarzburgverbindung Sedinia of Greifswald, surrounded by heraldic ornamentation and the motto “Ich wag’s, Gott walt’s!” (“I dare, God wills it!”). Along the upper rim, the principle: “Sedinia sei's Panier". On the reverse, handwritten dedication: “Alexander Döring s. l. Lbfx. Karl Frenkner z. fr. Erg. Gryps S. S. 1902 – Otto Marcks”. Condition consistent with age, with light rim patina, D. 7 cm.
