This Prussian infantry officer’s sword (IOD) of the old type dates to before 1900 and belonged to the standard dress equipment of the Imperial officer corps. The refined blade etching, complete portepee, and original leather scabbard reflect its ceremonial role. Together with the preserved case, it forms a highly collectible piece of military representation culture.
