Two allegoric figures, zinc die cast, depicting trade and economy, 2nd half 19th century 1) female figure with anvil, wheel and hammer in oak leaf wreath, age-appropriate condition, wreath with small damage, hand glued 2) male figure on a ship's hull, with Hermes' staff and wheel, good age-appropriate condition

deutscher Bildhauer und Medailleur im Übergang vom Historismus zur Moderne (1869 Großauheim - 1921 Berlin), Bronze mit braunschwarzer Patina, 1901, auf Plinthe signiert und datiert "A. Gaul 1901, Guss v. H. Noack, Friedenau", buckelnde Katze mit vergoldeten Augen und erhobenem Schwanz, oft auch als "Kater" bezeichnet, WVZ Gabler 71, 1904-10 bei Cassirer 15 Exemplare verkauft, 1921 Neuauflage von 30 NL-Güssen, keine späteren Güsse bekannt, laut WVZ eines der beliebtesten Werke Gauls für den privaten Bereich, in verkleinerter Ausführung 1919 motivisch noch einmal für Paul Cassirer wiederholt (vgl. WVZ Gabler 287), Provenienz: dauerhafter mitteldeutscher Privatbesitz, altersgemäß guter Zustand, Verschraubung erneuert, Steinsockel bestoßen, gesamt H. 25 cm, Sockel H. 9,3 cm
